Our Programs
English Classes
English Classes at Dwell help equip resettled refugees and other immigrants with a network of relationships and practical skills needed to build a successful life in America. In addition to free English classes, subject-focused groups, including Citizenship, Driving, and GED, are available for participants as needed.

Dwell Connect
Dwell Connect is a tutoring program that promotes literacy among the 1st through 12th grade children of resettled refugee and immigrant families. Students spend an hour twice a week working with tutors on a variety of English Language Art skills using materials provided, as well as receive one-on-one homework help. Dwell Connect is where learning, life and play come together!
Special Events
Dwell hosts a variety of special events such as picnics, cultural nights, and other fun ways to gather throughout the year. A special event is a great place to meet families and begin volunteering with Dwell if you are unavailable to help at a weekly program. These events do not require the same volunteer commitment level as the English Classes or Dwell Connect.
Food Pantry
Dwell has an on-site food pantry that remains stocked by generous community members and local organizations who donate goods and host food drives. Financial gifts also help ensure the food pantry is available for those in need and facing food insecurity.
In the past, Dwell partnered with “Feeding the Gulf Coast” to organize a monthly food distribution to provide assistance to individuals in need within the community. On average, Dwell distributed 10k pounds of perishable and non-perishable goods to an average of 300 clients and community members each month. Now, that partnership is set to continue through the dry pantry available to the community as needed.

The food pantry is available Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. If in need, please contact us to set up a time to receive assistance.
